Phillips Side of Things

Today I thought I would tell you a little bit about your Mimi's side of the family, PHILLIPS.

Great Grandparents: Charles & Pearl Phillips

These two were amazing! I know that today if they were here you would have them eating of your hand. I know your dads and I did when we were little. Here are just some fun facts for you about each of them with things that I remember about each.

Grandma Pearl

Rylee your middle name is after her and for me everytime we say it is just more of heaven shining down on us.

She loved yellow roses and so this was passed down to MiMi and Choo.

When I think of Grandma this is the first picture that pops in my head Grandma sitting at her kitchen table in a red, white, and blue top that was her favorite. Telling Clifford (more on him in a minute) to get us kids some ice cream.

I don't think Grandma had one day with out having her kids around. Maybe that is why MiMi loves having everyone at her house too.

She loved playing cards, Yahtzee, and BINGO!

She had the best white/silver hair in the world.

Her words were the final on this side of the family.

David use to tell Grandma that ice cream gave him muscles ( and for him that is a long stretch he looked like an Ethiopian child ) so she would always give him some.

Lee was more of the outside kid, but loved dogs and they had a big one that always let Lee play with him. DUKE was his name!

Grandma loved us so much and loved MiMi so much I can only imagine how much love she would have giving you all if she were still alive. No matter what I know you have this super angel looking over you day and night.

This is actually a really hard subject for me to write so baby steps on Grandma. Ok.

Now Grandpa Phillips

Watch out this was a character that anyone who met him fell in love with. He adored Grandma and while she was battling cancer took care of her non stop.

Once Grandma passed he decided that a change needed to happen so Grandpa, Dennis, and Clifford moved to the farm in Elkland.

Your dad's use to spend the summers at the farms messing around with them. The boys loved spending time down at the farm.

Grandpa wore suspenders and a paper boy hat!

My memory oldest memory of Grandpa is him getting in the fridge for bologna that he would role up like a cigarette.

He loved the Macy's Day Parade!!!

Grandpa had a problem with keeping cars. You never knew what he would be driving because he would change in a heart beat.

This is just the beginning of telling you about your Grandma and Grandpa Phillips Part 2 to come soon!!!!!

Memories Of Your Day

When each of you were born emotions overtook me. I was fine during the waiting process, but once I heard you were here, well this Auntie would just have a good cry. I cried because the Lord blessed us with another precious addition to our family. Here is what I remember from the each of your big days.

Piper:

Your dad called to say they were headed to the hospital the night before. So I was for sure you would of been here on September 12th. Since you were your moms first she was nervous and boy did she not like having everyone around. They made her walk and walk, still you decided it was not to be. So this Auntie high tailed it home to rest and to let your dad handle your cranky mom! (I could only imagine how cranky I would have been if I had to go through this) Well I remember your MiMi calling me to tell me I needed to come back up to the hospital it was time. The waiting room was filled with MiMi, PaPa, Uncle Dave, Aunt Deb, Pops, Nana, Aunt Abby, Aunt Megan, Great Grandpa Dishman, and Great Grandma Dishman. I will never forget the first time I saw your dad when he came outside to tell us you were here. His smile was huge and bright. Yep this is the time I started crying for you. I remember the first time I held you in my arms I was so nervous I was afraid of breaking you. Your mom was glowing and her and your dad were such proud parents.

Hattie & Drake:

Let me just tell you two that I knew you would end up being my ornery ones. First off I am not a good morning person and waking up is a hard time for me. But on August 20th none of that mattered. Now your mom is stubborn because she does not like to admit when she needs help. That morning your mom woke up not feeling well; normal women would tell there husband get out of bed take me to the hospital. Not your mom she is straighting her hair doing her morning routine. By the time your mom and dad got the hospital guess what it was time. Your dad called everyone while they prepped your mom. I drove like a bat out of hell honking at people to move out of my way. When I arrived your dad was in gown walking up and down the hall looking scared as hell. I don't care what he says he was scared! Then they allowed him back in the room so you two could be delivered. Waiting for you all was MiMi, PaPa, Uncle Lee, Aunt Kassie, Granny, PawPaw, Great Grandpa Dishman, Great Grandma Dishman, and Uncle Lance ( I will cover this crazy fool in another post). Now because you two were not suppose to be here yet we were all scared, but here came your dad to give us the news you were here. Now you had to be rushed to what I call the "More Love Needed" department. So we did not get to see you right away. When I finally was able to see your mom she was shaking hard but both parents were happy to have two precious babies. You had a hill but you climbed it like champs!

Rylee:

When you were born I did not get to be at the hospital because I took care of Piper. But it made it more special for me. I remember having your dad texting all through the night and morning telling me what is going on. Finally the text I had been waiting for with a picture. I cried and remember Piper asking me why I was crying. I told her that her mommy and daddy had something for her. Well your dad could not wait to tell Piper that she was a big sister. He called her and she got a huge smile on her face. She yelled I'm a big sister! We hurried to get around because I wanted to get to the hospital to meet my new niece. I dropped Piper off at daycare as soon as we walked in she announced to everyone I have a new sister. She was so proud! MiMi met me at the parking lot to take me up. When I walked in I knew right then that I had another love. I cried again right there.

Each of you have your own special way that you came into our lives. But the love that surrounded you was the same! No one can take away these memories that I will cherish and hold dear to my heart.

I love each of you so much to the moon and stars and beyond.

Auntie Choo

Man I can not believe first of all that I am old enough to have 4 nieces and nephew. When people make that crazy comment that time flies by I know your going to roll your eyes, but it really does. I guess to get started here is a little bit about your Aunt Choo:

I was born on the day Elvis died. So because he was the King that automatically makes me the Queen. See the lord knew two great individuals would not be able to take this world on at the same time! Just remember if I am Queen that makes you all my loving prince and princesses!

Since the moment you have been born I have been whispering in your ear a very important message. That when I am too old to drive you MUST take turns driving me to bingo. The way I see it is there are 4 weeks in a month so you should all only have to do this task once a month. I promise though by this time I will have you loving it with me!

Your Aunt loves music! I can go for a variety except the head banging stuff that I will rip out of your hand if you ever try to make me buy for you. With that I love to dance and move. So this is your fair warning some day I will probably embarrass you by singing and dancing. If your dad's are around they may even have me do a little painting of the face. Do not fear I pray everyday for you that somehow you all come out with my or papa's rhythm and music love and nothing like your dad's or Mimi! I will sometime post more information about this for you.

Now as with all Dishman's we have a little fire in us and your Aunt is no exception. I will be the first one to tell you if you mess with the family this bull is coming out of the pasture mean! Now sometimes I can go from great mood to bad mood in like 60 seconds. Your poor mothers have been witness to this. More on all that also at a later time. Just remember though no matter how mad I may seem you will always have my heart. This Aunt is in for the long haul so you will never be without my love! I have giving the family my fair share of disappoint and let downs but one thing I know is that they still love me. And the same goes for you too!

I am a typical woman by I love to shop! I actually do a lot of impulse buying in which your Papa kind of has a sore spot with. Long story here too, but will go over later. Now if you ever find yourself in a pickle of what to get me say for birthdays, Christmas, or aunt day shoes are always great! I hope you can tell I have a great since of humor too!

This is a great start I feel to writing to you. I love each of you so much to the moon and stars and beyond.

If you are passer by just reading for enjoyment one thing I ask is not to make any comments that are negative. Once again I can get mean and when it comes to the babies I go to the extreme of that! Enjoy tell your Aunt Stories and just love life!
